Fly Away Home part 2

Reflection

I want to pause here in this story – see last post!

First of all, this is a true story that happened to me, my husband Bill, and our Canadian colleague Janna. I will tell you how it ended in the next post. But now that I am able to look back on it many years later, I want to dive into that experience and digest it. Sure, it’s done and dusted and adds to my vast repertoire of out-of-the-box international adventures. However, behind that outside EDGE that is visible to the world, treasures nestle among the rubbish – lessons I learned which fostered growth.

This artwork on my favorite mug depicts my idea of the outer EDGE of who we are to the world and the treasures and rubbish hidden within each of us.

So while the pilot was sleeping, what emotions did I have? What thoughts? What choices did I consider?

>Emotions – Surprise of course. Dismay. Frustration. The sense of spinning out of control. Strangely, fear was absent.

>Thoughts – Oh no! Now what? This can’t be happening! We need that Plan B.

Choices – Wake up the pilot and demand an explanation. Leave the pilot sleeping, hitchhike back to town, and fly another day. Give up, give in, and have a meltdown.

If you were me, what would be your emotions, thoughts, and choice of action be? What would emerge from your inner hidden stuff?

What are your thoughts?
